The Printmaking Workshop: The Curious Monoprint 7/21/26
Color, texture, shape: learn the fascinating fundamentals of monoprinting using both the printing press and hand printing methods. This introductory class will cover plate preparation of both plexiglass and woodblock, ink mixing, stencil-making, paper varieties, ghost printing, and registration techniques to achieve multi-layered and dynamic prints. Experiment with various ink applications using both brayers and brushes to achieve painterly texture while embracing the spontaneous and whimsical moments.
Skills include: fundamentals of printmaking, including tools, techniques and materials. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Guest Instructor: Seattle artist Christi Birchfield.
