The Clay Workshop: Tiny Architecture 2/21/26
Design and build your own tiny village out of clay! Guest artists Alison and Rachel of Satrell Studio invite you to let your architectural imagination lead as you learn a variety of hand-building clay techniques in a fun and supportive environment. We will gather inspiration from world architecture: colorful row homes of Burano, Italy, traditional Japanese minkas, half-timber Tudor cottages, and more, as we delve into details and build them from clay.
We will be working with stoneware clay and glazes, making your finished pieces suitable for both indoor and outdoor play. Depending on your design, you will have time to make at least 3 houses. Your finished creations will be ready to pick-up 2 weeks after the workshop. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
No prior experience necessary. Skills include essential pottery techniques, including; shaping, surface decoration, and glazing.
Each student will go home with their own one-of-a-kind ceramic tiny home village and a journal. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Guest Instructors: Satrell Studio is a creative ceramics studio run by a passionate mother-daughter (Alison-Rachel) team with over 10 years of pottery experience. Alison and Rachel work together designing and bringing pieces to life.
