The Drawing Workshop : Bold Landscape Miniatures 10/4/25
Learn the basics of working with oil pastels as you create a set of mini oil pastel drawings on fine art papers. Oil pastels are a rich and luscious medium, perfect for exploring bold color, varied textures, and painterly effects without using water or paint. In this workshop, we will dive into color composition, blending, mixing, and expressive mark making unique oil pastels. You’ll also learn about different paper options and fixatives. Using landscape photographs as our inspiration, we’ll experiment with both realistic and abstract compositions.
No prior art experience is necessary.
Skills include: drawing, color mixing, blending, and mark making with oil pastels, layout design, and color composition.
Guest instructor: Teresa Stern, Seattle based visual artist with a background in architecture and sustainability.
