Using inspiration from magazines, books, maps, and decorative papers, you'll create a one-of-a-kind collaged hardcover filled with rich textures, patterns, and imagery. Then, personalize the interior by adding decorative papers, collaged cardstock pages, and hand-sewn paper elements, creating a journal that's uniquely yours and can be refilled with use.
No prior experience necessary. Skills include: Collage, use of bookbinding tape and elastic cords.
Guest Instructors: Mother-daughter team Alison and Rachel are the makers behind Satrell Studio, a creative ceramics studio. While ceramics is their medium for markets and most workshops, bookbinding has been a shared passion for over a decade, spanning from teaching family and friends to studying bookbinding art history in college.
