About the Workshop Cyanotype has been a beloved art form for over 180 years. Try your hand at this magical process, and create a stunning piece of wearable art! We’ll start with a brief overview of the cyanotype process, then use an array of pressed plants and other beautiful objects to make our first prints on watercolor paper. Once we’ve gotten familiar with cyanotype, we’ll let our creativity run wild and arrange big compositions on our large 100% silk scarves. We’ll have lots of lovely objects for you to use in your designs, and you’re very welcome to bring objects from home as well! Anything that casts an interesting shadow could be a great addition to your design: leaves, glass objects, costume jewelry, lace, spoons, crystals, and even things like colanders or cassette tapes. Including your own objects in your design can make the scarf you create an especially meaningful gift.
