Curry & Soot

I love the color combination we just printed for a client -- turmeric laced curry and sooty gray.  This yardage is on its way to becoming a set of pendant lampshades, built by our friend Dawn at LiT.  I think they are destined for a dining room.

I think the texture of this linen is quite beautiful.  I can imagine lots of home dec applications for it, not just lighting -- upholstery, pillows and bedding, or curtains.

piano nobile fabric at michael tavano in nyc

We were THRILLED to see one of our new prints for O Ecotextiles in the front window at Michael Tavano, a brilliantly hued design haven inside New York City's renowned Design Center (ours is the one in the center).  From the lime green floor to the vibrant yellow upholstery, this showroom does not shy away from color!  Of course, we felt right at home!

The incredible fabric is a bamboo and cotton velvet woven in a Victorian-era English mill using GOTTS certified manufacturing process, which insures impeccable factory standards, from clean air to clean water.  We feel thoroughly spoiled to have this luxurious fabric grace our studio!   When it arrives at Piano Nobile, we hand print it with non-toxic, PVC-free inks mixed in small batches of custom colors.  Our printing process is low-impact by its very nature of being made by hand, so the finished product is not only beautiful, but environmentally conscious as well.

You can read more about Northern Lights bamboo/cotton velvet on the O Ecotextiles website.
