Sometimes the best part of a design is improvised in the shop. But how do you recreate that special kick of the bender or 1/2 turn on the clamp? The answer is shop drawings, the living, messy notation of what happened when the sparks were flying (and sometimes igniting the drawings). Here are a few of the shop drawings for the Semaphore collection. Fire not included.
We use both computer modeling and old fashioned red pen to design the pieces. Sometimes both at the same time. I have tried to hit undo while welding, it doesn't work as good as control Z in autoCAD.
